The High Court in Wa has sentenced Sherif Abdulai Oli to life imprisonment for his role in a series of horrific ritual killings that terrorised the Wa Municipality.
The judgment, delivered today by the High Court in Wa, follows extensive investigations and prosecution linking the convict to multiple gruesome murders committed over several years.
According to court proceedings, Sherif Abdulai Oli confessed to killing as many as 15 people since 2021, with the crimes involving the removal of body parts such as lungs, hearts and tongues for ritual purposes. The chilling revelations shocked residents of Wa and surrounding communities, prompting heightened security concerns across the Upper West Region.
The court held that the gravity of the offences, the brutality involved and the devastating impact on victims’ families warranted the maximum sentence under the law.
