Ntow Amoah appointed Ag. CEO of GNPC

GNPC expressed full confidence in Mr.Amoah’s leadership capabilities and his ability to advance the corporation’s strategic goals, as it looks ahead to continued growth and success under his stewardship.

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has named Kwame Ntow Amoah as its new Acting Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Edward Abambire Bawa, who has been reassigned to head GOIL as Managing Director and Group CEO.

Mr. Amoah, who has held several prominent positions throughout his career, previously served as Deputy Chief Executive at GNPC and as Advisor to the Minister of Energy and Director of Petroleum at the Ministry of Energy.

His experience extends to various national and international boards, where he has been an active member and chairman of numerous committees.

One of  Mr. Amoah’s most notable contributions was his role as Technical Advisor for Ghana in the landmark Maritime Boundary Case, which resulted in a favorable ruling for the country in September 2017.

In addition to his legal and diplomatic achievements, Mr.Amoah has been instrumental in securing significant investments for GNPC and the country, most notably helping to secure around US$7 billion in financing for the Sankofa Oil and Gas Development Project, supported by US$700 million in World Bank partial risk guarantees.

Mr. Amoah holds an MBA from IMD in Switzerland and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana.

He has also participated in various high-level leadership and management programs, as well as specialized energy and petroleum management courses.
