Claims on social media that political commentator Kevin Taylor is being held under national security protection at Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang’s official residence have been denied by the Office of the Vice President.
The Vice President’s press secretary, Maame Ama Pratt, denied the reports as untrue and unfounded in an August 1, 2025, interview on Adom TV.
In addition to not staying at the Vice President’s house, she explained, Kevin Taylor has never been to her home or office.
“He is not living at the Vice President’s house. That
Is the end of the matter?” the Vice President said.
“He doesn’t live with the Vice President and hasn’t been to our office either.” She added
Since not all accusations require a response, Pratt continued, the Vice President’s Office did not need to formally address such claims.
On July 15, 2025, Ghanaian media personality Paul Adom-Otchere claimed that Kevin Taylor, host of Loud Silence TV’s With All Due Respect, was being held at the Vice President’s home despite a court order for his arrest at the time.
This sparked the rumours on social media. Furthermore, according to Adom-Otchere, Taylor was being protected by the state without being caught.
In a 4-1 majority ruling, the Supreme Court, however, invalidated the arrest warrant on July 22, 2025. Justice Imoro Amadu Tanko presided over the panel, which was composed of members.
Gbiel Simon Suurbaareh, Philip Bright Mensah, and Seny Dzamefe, the justices. The ruling’s lone dissenter was Justice Ernest Gaewu.
A contempt of court charge brought by Justice Eric Kyei-Baffour of the Court of Appeal, who was serving as an additional High Court judge, was the basis for the arrest warrant.
