A senior clergyman has issued a firm warning against domestic abuse, vowing to take direct action against any man who abuses his daughter.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s relationship programme Kisses & Roses, Rev. William Akyea Asiedu, Head of Chaplaincy and Lecturer at the Presbyterian Nurses and Midwifery Training College (PNMTC), stressed that violence has no place in marriage or romantic relationships.

According to Rev. Asiedu, love and marriage must never be used as excuses for abuse, describing any form of domestic violence as unacceptable.

“I will arrest any man that abuses my daughter straight to the IGP,” he stated, underscoring his zero tolerance for abuse.

He explained that marriage should be founded on love, respect, and mutual understanding, not fear, intimidation, or control. Rev. Asiedu further emphasized that families have a duty to protect their daughters and ensure their safety, even after marriage.

His comments were made during a broader discussion on marital expectations and family responsibilities, where he urged parents and guardians not to remain silent when abuse occurs.

The pastor’s strong stance has resonated widely with viewers, sparking conversations on social media about the need for families, religious leaders, and society at large to adopt a firmer approach in confronting domestic violence.

His remarks add to growing calls for greater accountability, protection for women in marriage, and the importance of reporting abuse through the appropriate legal channels.
