Mr Alexander Mould, who was recently appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), has said he intends to leave a good legacy behind as far as the operations of MiDA are concerned.

Addressing MiDA staff for the first time, Mr Mould emphasised his collaborative approach. “I am, first and foremost, a people person,” he said. “I will be relying heavily on your expertise and institutional knowledge to bring me up to speed so we can collectively deliver the results expected from this important institution.”

Mr. Mould previously served as CEO of both the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), where he spearheaded key reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency and operational growth. His tenure at MiDA is anticipated to bring a similar strategic focus.

A key priority for Mr. Mould is strengthening MiDA’s role in government initiatives, particularly in ensuring seamless integration with the government’s 24-hour economy program. He has pledged to engage with government stakeholders to explore how MiDA can take on a more central role in national development efforts.

“MiDA needs to be in perfect sync with the government’s vision,” he stated, underlining the importance of collaboration with various ministries.

He also highlighted the need for MiDA to manage strategic projects effectively, ensuring that the institution delivers tangible results that benefit Ghana’s economy.

Looking ahead, Mr. Mould expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to lead MiDA, thanking President Mahama for his trust. He articulated a long-term ambition to establish MiDA as the government’s primary project implementation unit.

“The legacy I want to leave,” he stated, “is to establish MiDA as the government of Ghana’s go-to project implementation unit.”
