The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has released the approved fee structure for the University of Ghana for the 2025/2026 academic year, providing clarity for students, parents, and other stakeholders.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of GTEC, Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, and dated Monday, January 12, the Commission announced that the Academic Facility User Fee will remain unchanged from the 2024/2025 academic year.
According to GTEC, the decision means there will be no increase in the Academic Facility User Fee for the upcoming academic year.
The Commission also approved the following mandatory charges for all undergraduate students, including freshmen:
-SRC Dues: GH₵50
-SRC Development Levy: GH₵150
-GRASAG Development Levy: GH₵250
-Telecel Broadband Levy: GH₵122
In addition, GTEC approved a one-time 75th Anniversary Levy of GH₵100, which will apply only to the 2025/2026 academic year and will not be charged in subsequent years.
GTEC further emphasized the need for transparency in fee administration, reminding students of their rights, including the option to opt out of certain levies where applicable. The Commission called on university authorities and student leadership to work collaboratively to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the approved fee structure.
