The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Davis Ansah Opoku, has called on state security agencies to urgently investigate and arrest a foreign national accused of luring and secretly filming young Ghanaian women.

In a statement posted on Facebook on Friday, 13 February, Mr. Opoku appealed to the Cyber Security Authority, the Ghana Police Service, and the National Intelligence Bureau to act swiftly. He warned that the allegations, if proven, amount to serious criminal conduct.

“Cyber Security Authority Ghana, Ghana Police Service and the National Bureau of Investigation must act swiftly to investigate and arrest the foreign national who allegedly lured young Ghanaian women and secretly filmed them,” he wrote.

Criminal Concerns
The MP stressed that the matter should not be dismissed as mere social media controversy.
“If the allegations are true, this is not entertainment. It is exploitation. It is abuse. It is cybercrime,” he said, urging authorities to treat the case with the seriousness it deserves.

Mr. Opoku also directed a message to Ghanaian bloggers and content creators, cautioning them against amplifying the alleged videos.
“Stop circulating the videos and images of the young women involved. They are victims and deserve dignity and protection, not further humiliation,” he stated.

The Mpraeso MP underscored what he described as the shared responsibility of law enforcement and the media. “The law must pursue the suspect. The media must protect the victims. This is cyber harassment and sexual exploitation. It must be treated with the seriousness it deserves,” he added.
