The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 45-year-old man, Isaac Boafo, also known as “Duabo King,” for allegedly publishing false information intended to cause fear and panic in Kumasi.
According to a statement from the Ashanti Regional Police Command, the arrest follows a viral video circulated on TikTok in which the suspect claimed that four police officers at the Central Police Station in Kumasi had engaged in inappropriate conduct with commercial sex workers during night patrols at Asafo.

Police said officers from the Intelligence Directorate in the Ashanti Region acted on intelligence to apprehend the suspect. During interrogation, Boafo admitted to publishing the video and said he fabricated the allegations to attract views and boost online engagement. He also conceded that he could not substantiate the claims made against the officers.
The statement further noted that the suspect acknowledged making additional comments about the President for content creation purposes, which he also admitted he could not defend.
Boafo has since been formally charged and remains in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
The Police cautioned the public against the publication and circulation of false information, particularly on social media, warning that such actions can cause unnecessary fear, panic, and reputational harm. They added that individuals found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
