The Government of Ghana has deported three Israeli nationals who arrived in Accra earlier today, in a reciprocal move following what it described as the “ill-treatment and unwarranted deportation” of three Ghanaians from Israel.

In a statement released on its official Facebook page, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Israeli Embassy was “promptly summoned” to the ministry, given that the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana is currently out of the country.

The ministry noted that both governments have since reached an amicable resolution to the matter.

Concluding the statement, Ghana reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining cordial relations with all friendly nations, while stressing that it expects its citizens abroad to be treated with respect and dignity.
