Ghana’s Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection says it has set up a support desk to provide counseling for victims and families affected by the secret filming and online publication of explicit videos involving a Russian national.

Minister Agnes Naa Momo Lartey told reporters Wednesday that the ministry will provide professional psychosocial services to those identified in the recordings, as well as their relatives.

“The psychosocial support we are giving is not just to the individuals involved, but also to their close relations,” Dr. Lartey said. “Their families, their children, everyone close to them who is affected by this incident is also open to receive such professional psychosocial support.”

She urged victims who have not yet come forward to contact the ministry.

“So, those who are yet to reach out to us, just know that you have the love and support of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, who has mandated us to take charge of these issues,” she said. “Reach out to us, and we will support you. If the public knows of anyone affected, you can also contact us. We have toll-free numbers you can call, and we will take it up from there.”

The toll-free numbers are 0800-800-800, 0800-900-900 and 0800-111-222.

The controversy erupted after a video circulated on social media showing a man identified as Yaytseslav interacting with Ghanaian women, some of whom were later reported to have accompanied him to his hotel. The footage sparked widespread outrage and renewed calls for stronger action against online sexual exploitation.
