A devastating fire erupted in Accra’s Laterbiokorshie area on Tuesday afternoon, following a suspected explosion at a warehouse operated by Chinese nationals. The incident occurred around 4 p.m., rapidly escalating into a multi-building inferno that consumed at least four structures, including residential properties.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud blast before flames engulfed the warehouse and spread to adjacent buildings. Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service arrived promptly and continued battling the blaze into the night, with operations still underway as of 8:50 p.m.
While the exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation, preliminary accounts suggest a possible electrical fault. No injuries or fatalities have been confirmed at this time.
