The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly arrested Kofi Akpaloo, leader and presidential candidate of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), during a dawn operation at his residence in Kumasi.
The operation was led by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU) from the agency’s Accra Headquarters, in coordination with its Ashanti Regional Office. Sources indicate the arrest was executed without resistance.
While the specific grounds for Akpaloo’s arrest remain undisclosed, he is currently being transported to Accra to assist investigators with ongoing inquiries. EOCO has yet to issue an official statement regarding the development.
