The Interior Ministry has announced that Friday, December 5, will be a statutory public holiday as the nation celebrates Farmers’ Day.
A statement issued and signed by Interior Minister Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka said the holiday recognises the crucial role farmers and fishers continue to play in sustaining Ghana’s economy, ensuring food security, and driving national development.
Celebrated each first Friday in December, Farmers’ Day honours the dedication of Ghana’s agricultural workers. This year’s theme is “Eat Ghana, Grow Ghana, Secure the Future.”
The Ministry further urged the public to mark the holiday in a manner that reflects its national significance.
