David Andoh Named to Nine-Member GJA Media Awards Committee

Renowned photojournalist and President of the Ghana Photojournalists Network, David Andoh, has been named among a distinguished nine-member committee tasked with selecting winners for the 29th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Media Awards.

Renowned photojournalist and President of the Ghana Photojournalists Network, David Andoh, has been named among a distinguished nine-member committee tasked with selecting winners for the 29th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Media Awards.

The announcement, made by the GJA on October 7, 2025, marks the official constitution of the Media Awards Committee, which is responsible for vetting entries and determining awardees across various competitive categories.

The committee is chaired by Mr. Gabriel Bosompem, a respected former Commissioner of the National Media Commission and former Production Manager at TV3 (Media General). Other members include Mr. Kingsley Obeng-Kyere, 2012 GJA-PAV Ansah Journalist of the Year and Senior Manager at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC); Madam Nana Yaa Konadu, a presenter at Peace FM; and Madam Theresa Owusu Ako, former Head of Radio News at GBC.

Also serving on the committee are Madam Agnes Boye-Doe, Deputy News Editor at the Ghana News Agency; Alhaji Salifu Abdul-Rahaman, Editor of the Ghanaian Times; Mr. Samuel Bio, Night Editor at Graphic Communications Group Limited; and Mr. Jeorge Wilson Kingston, Executive Secretary of the Private Newspaper Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG).

This year’s awards ceremony is scheduled for November 2025 at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, under the distinguished patronage of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene. The event promises to be a grand affair, drawing both national and international dignitaries.
Top honours to be awarded include the GJA/P.A.V. Ansah Journalist of the Year, Best Female Journalist of the Year, Komla Dumor Most Promising Journalist of the Year, and Best Student Journalist of the Year.

The GJA National Executive expressed excitement over the continued support from Corporate Ghana and urged more organizations to come on board to ensure the success of the highly anticipated ceremony.
