Gifty Oware Mensah, the former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority, has regained her freedom after meeting the GH¢10 million bail granted by the court.
Her release was confirmed by NPP Deputy General Secretary, Haruna Mohammed, on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily on Wednesday, November 12.
He also revealed that Osei Assibey Antwi, the former Executive Director of the NSA, remains in custody, as he is yet to meet his GH¢800 million bail condition.
“Madam Gifty Oware, it was yesterday that she met the bail condition, and she has been released, but her boss is still in custody. 800 million, what kind of bail condition is that?”
Former NSA Deputy Executive Director, Gifty Oware Mensah, stood before the Accra High Court on October 22, 2025, where she pleaded not guilty to charges linked to a GH¢38 million financial loss to the state.
She faces five criminal counts, including stealing, money laundering, and abuse of office.
Investigators allege that she orchestrated the creation of nearly 10,000 fake National Service names, channeling allowances from these ghost personnel into private hands — a move said to have drained millions from government coffers.
