Speaking to the media after the ceremony, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur, underscored the significance of the day to the Ghana Police Service, describing it as a time to remember, reflect, and motivate serving officers.

“It’s a very special day for the Police Service — not just to honour our fallen heroes but also to encourage serving officers to continue to work with dignity and dedication,” he said.

DCOP Arthur further disclosed that the Police Administration, led by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has already reached out to the families of the deceased officers to provide support and assurances of continued assistance.

“Families of the deceased officers have already been engaged by the IGP, and we have assured them of any support the Service can provide,” he added.

The 2025 Memorial Day ceremony reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to honouring its fallen heroes — men and women whose sacrifices remain etched in the memory of the nation.
