Following the screening process, authorities determined that 295 people were allegedly victims of human trafficking, and 25 suspects were detained for allegedly luring the victims into a fictitious business scam under the pretense of QNET.

The victims were camped at different locations in Kenyasi in the Kwabre East Municipality and Buoho in the Afigya South District, both in the Ashanti Region. They were brought from different parts of the country by their recruiters, who pretended to be QNET officers and offered them employment, educational, and travel opportunities.

Staff Officer Dominic Mensah, the head of EOCO’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, said that while plans are being made to reintegrate the victims with their families, shelter is being prepared for them.

QNET’s Head of Compliance, Theodocia Naana Bennieh Quartey, lamented the continued misuse of the company’s name by fraudsters and noted that QNET has intensified its partnership with security authorities to crack down on those involved.
