Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew, has firmly stated that he is not ready to retire from international football, despite growing speculation about his future with the Black Stars.

At 35, Ayew has been a cornerstone of Ghana’s national team for over a decade, following in the footsteps of his father, the legendary Abedi Pele.

While he has yet to secure a major title with the Black Stars, Ayew has enjoyed several notable career milestones, including deep runs at the Africa Cup of Nations and Ghana’s near-miss at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, where the team was just moments away from reaching the semi-finals.

Andre Ayew made his international debut in 2007 against Senegal and quickly established himself as a key player, earning a starting role in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.

Over the years, he has appeared in eight AFCON tournaments and three World Cups, setting the record for most appearances for Ghana with 120 caps.

Although Ayew has not played for the Black Stars in the past year, he made it clear that he has not yet ruled out a return to international football.

“I love what I’m doing, and I’m not ready to stop,” Ayew said, signalling his willingness to make a comeback as Ghana prepares for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in March.

His statement suggests he remains committed to the national team and could play a pivotal role in Ghana’s World Cup campaign moving forward.
