The President of the African Development Council (ADC), Ing. Dr. Bright Atsu Sogbey, has emphasised the critical role petroleum products play in Ghana’s economic structure, calling for technical solutions to address pricing challenges in the sector.

Speaking on Bullet TV’s Morning Target with Bright Nana Amfoh, on March 10, Dr. Sogbey said the country must adopt an engineering-driven approach to managing petroleum pricing to achieve sustainable results.

According to him, petroleum products form the backbone of Ghana’s economy and therefore require innovative strategies to ensure stability.

“The foundation of Ghana’s economy is petroleum products, so if we use an engineering mind to tackle this, we will get results,” he stated.

He noted that global tensions and conflicts continue to influence petroleum prices on the international market, a situation that often impacts domestic fuel pricing.

Dr. Sogbey added that the ADC remains ready to collaborate with government to help implement practical solutions that will address the challenges in the petroleum sector.
