The Chief of Abotakyi in the Akuapem North Municipality, Nana Kwame Sakyi Ababio, has appealed to the government to prioritize infrastructure development in his community, particularly the improvement of the road network.
Speaking in an interview with Atinka TV News, Nana Ababio expressed concern over the slow pace of development in Abotakyi, noting that poor infrastructure continues to affect livelihoods and limit economic opportunities.
The Chief made the appeal following the installation of Nana Sakyi Kumi as the Apesemakahene (Development Chief) of the community.
The newly installed Apesemakahene, known in private life as William Du Bois Sakyi Kumi, is a marketer and accountant with one of Ghana’s leading digital and creative agencies. According to the Chief, Nana Sakyi Kumi will serve as the mouthpiece of the community and spearhead efforts to attract investment and development projects to Abotakyi.
Nana Ababio urged the new Apesemakahene to leverage his professional expertise and network to promote the community positively and mobilize stakeholders to address pressing developmental challenges.
In his remarks, Nana Sakyi Kumi called on the youth of Abotakyi to avoid immoral behaviors that could hinder their progress and urged them to focus on education and skill development. He also outlined his vision to foster unity, attract investors, and work with local authorities to improve infrastructure and social amenities in the area.
