The Ghana Air Traffic Safety Engineers Association (GhATSEA) has announced the suspension of its strike action slated for October 30, 2025, citing progress made in negotiations with the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
According to a statement from the Association, the decision was reached after constructive dialogue with the GCAA governing board and management, signaling a possible resolution to the long-standing labour concerns.
In a statement issued on October 29, 2025, and signed by the President of the Association, Engineer David Annan Mensah, GhATSEA commended the collaborative spirit demonstrated during the discussions and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring safety and professionalism in Ghana’s air navigation sector.
“We appreciate the efforts made by all stakeholders during the discussions and remain optimistic that the ongoing engagements will lead to a lasting resolution of all outstanding issues,” the statement read.
The Association further assured the public and aviation stakeholders of its unwavering dedication to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency in the delivery of air traffic engineering and navigation services across the country.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism in the provision of air navigation services across the country,” it emphasized.
GhATSEA reiterated its readiness to continue constructive dialogue with relevant authorities to strengthen Ghana’s aviation safety framework and promote smooth operations within the air transport industry.
GhATSEA commended GCAA Acting Director-General Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur and Acting Deputy Director-General (Technical) Theophilus Aryee Ago for their leadership during talks.
It also thanked the media and public for their understanding, assuring that it remains committed to safe and efficient airspace management.
The Association had previously threatened an indefinite strike over welfare, salary, and placement concerns that have persisted for over 15 years.
