Renowned life counsellor and coach, Uncle Kweku Adumatta, has sparked thought-provoking conversations on love and relationships with his statement that “Love is a destination, not a feeling.”
He made this assertion on last week’s edition of Kisses & Roses with Afia Adubea on Atinka TV, a relationship-focused program that educates couples on marriage and intimacy.
Expounding on his point, the counsellor described love as “the unseen yet to be seen,” explaining that although love cannot be touched, tasted, or physically held, it carries a forward-looking quality that questions longevity and commitment.
“That thing called love… has a sort of tomorrow yardstick to it — how long will it last? How is it going to work?” he noted.
Uncle Kweku further distinguished love from lust, cautioning couples not to confuse the two.
“Before you come to love, you need to understand there is something called lust. When you lust, you tend to like, but you don’t take lust into love. The premise of love is to like,” he explained.
Breaking down the stages of affection, he emphasized that genuine love evolves over time:
“It goes like, ‘I saw you — I admire you — I like you,’ and then the thought becomes, ‘I want to spend the rest of my life with you,’ which is the destination — Love.”
His remarks have since drawn attention from viewers and relationship enthusiasts alike, sparking dialogue about the true meaning and journey of love.
