It was a fiesta of music, dance, and drama at the second edition of the Prekese Theatre Festival, organized by FED CREATES Studios, which lit up the campus of St. John’s Grammar School on Saturday, August 2, 2025. The event was powered by Chempe Snacks as the headline sponsor and Bullet TV Ghana as the official media partner.
With over 800 students in attendance, the atmosphere was electrifying. The festival was masterfully emceed by Kofi Siaw Sarpong and the ever-charming July Ofosua, who dazzled the crowd with her elegance and charisma. The event lived up to its billing as a clash of senior high school drama titans.
The competition featured spectacular performances from Ebenezer SHS, St. John’s Grammar SHS, Wesley Grammar SHS, Dzodze Penyin SHS, Sogakope SHS, Akuse SHS, and Osei Kyeretwie SHS. Each school was allotted 20 minutes to showcase its best, weaving stories with captivating acting, dance, and musical expressions. The stakes were high, the competition fierce, and emotions ran wild throughout the day.
Though all schools put up impressive and creative performances that wowed the audience, Dzodze Penyin SHS emerged as the undisputed winner, scoring high on all fronts. The judges — Julius Anyaele (Filmmaker/Producer, Bullet TV), Ohene Kena (Casting Director, MOK Studios), and Stanley Nkebuary (CEO, Teen Style Awards) — reached a unanimous decision.
Crowned champions of Prekese Theatre Festival 2025, Dzodze Penyin SHS took home the gigantic trophy, a television set, sponsor product packages, and GH¢300 worth of internet data as part of their winning package — along with the ultimate bragging rights.
Fernard Mintah, Director of FED CREATES Studios, expressed deep optimism about the festival’s future, describing it as a growing platform for talent development.
“This festival has come to stay,” he stated, “and we are just getting started.”
