After a protracted recovery period following a shooting injury to his eye several months ago, Ghanaian broadcaster Kofi Adomah Nwanwani has given the most recent health update.

On May 22, 2025, Kofi listed a long list of individuals and donors who supported him during this period in a video that was uploaded to his Kofi TV YouTube page.

Additionally, he praised Ibrahim Mahama, a businessman, for his generosity and willingness to go above and beyond, providing him with a private jet ride.

“Today is just to say thank you, but as I have said, I won’t leave any issue unanswered. Whatever needs to be done will be done because what I went through, at a point, I felt it was my end. I felt that it could have been my death because someone was shot in the leg at Teshie Nungua, and she died. Mine was in the face, and when you look at the scans that were conducted, as I speak now, there are still particles in there, which they say I have to live with for a period,” he said.

In subsequent videos, Kofi promised to address and elucidate some of the controversy surrounding the event.

After undergoing extensive surgeries and treatment, Kofi Adomah disclosed that, despite the fact that his vision is not as good as it once was, he is currently recuperating and able to see.

“Now I can say that, while my eyes are not like they used to be, I can now see you if you are standing before me. I can read messages. When the text is small, I can take a screenshot and zoom in to read. So, I am able to help myself, and I am grateful for where the Lord has brought me. I am very grateful to Ghanaians,” he added.

On December 21, 2024, Kofi Adomah Nwanwani was shot in the face while attending the Kwafie Festival in Dormaa Ahenkro, Bono Region, which commemorated the 25th anniversary of Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu Il.

Kofi was hit in the eye by a musket shot fired at close range by a chief’s bodyguard during a traditional musketry demonstration while he was covering the event.

Businessman Ibrahim Mahama funded Kofi’s flight to Dubai for further medical treatment after he received initial care at Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital and Berekum Holy Family Hospital.
