Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, has pledged that all funds recovered from corruption cases will be reinvested in national development.
Speaking in Accra on Monday as he received a report from the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) Committee, Mr Mahama assured Ghanaians that the fight against corruption would continue with renewed determination.
“As we receive this report, let me assure the Ghanaian people that the work does not end here,” he said. “Every pesewa recovered will be channelled back into national development, and mechanisms will be strengthened to prevent future losses.”
He warned those who seek to defraud the state that Ghana is “no longer a safe haven for corruption,” vowing that legal action would be taken where necessary.
Calling the moment a crucial step in the fight against corruption, President Mahama urged citizens, civil society, the media, and public officials to play their part in promoting transparency and accountability.
“Together, we will build a Ghana that is just, transparent, and prosperous for generations to come,” he said.
