The former Managing Director of SIC Insurance Company Limited, Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, has allegedly refused to hand over to her successor, weeks after President John Dramani Mahama appointed James Agyenim-Boateng as Acting MD.
Mr. Agyenim-Boateng was appointed on January 24, 2025, to replace Ms. Duah-Yentumi—a holdover from the previous administration.
He, however, told the media in an interview on Wednesday, February 5, that he has had difficulties accessing his office.
“When I went there, I had a very good introductory meeting, but it was obvious I could not access the office for which I needed to work,” Mr. Agyenim-Boateng said. “For the most part, I have had to work offsite, dealing with critical issues remotely.”
He further stated that it has “become apparent that the real difficulty regarding why I have not been able to access the office is because my predecessor has locked up the office and bolted with the keys.”
Mr. Agyenim-Boateng also disclosed that he has yet to receive handover notes from Ms. Duah-Yentumi. “I have seen the handover notes of the MD before her, but not hers,” he told Accra-based Citi FM.
There has been no official comment from Ms. Duah-Yentumi or SIC’s board regarding the matter.
