Ghana’s Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cambridge Education to strengthen the country’s ongoing education reform agenda.

The agreement was signed at the ongoing Education World Forum in London, United Kingdom, where education leaders and policymakers from around the world have gathered to discuss strategies for improving learning systems, addressing inequality in education, and adapting to emerging global challenges.

The MoU provides a structured framework for collaboration between Ghana’s Ministry of Education and Cambridge Education in several key areas.

These include comprehensive education system analysis, curriculum development and reform, strengthening of assessment systems, and the enhancement of teacher professional development programmes.

It also places emphasis on integrating modern and emerging priorities such as climate change education and artificial intelligence into Ghana’s teaching and learning systems.

Officials say the partnership is expected to support evidence-based decision-making within the education sector, while also helping to align Ghana’s education reforms with global best practices.

The collaboration is also expected to contribute to improving learning outcomes at all levels of education, from basic to tertiary institutions.

The Ministry of Education, Ghana Ministry of Education, has in recent years intensified efforts to reform the country’s education system through policy reviews, curriculum updates, and teacher capacity-building initiatives.

The new partnership is seen as part of a broader strategy to accelerate these reforms through technical support and international cooperation.

Speaking at the forum, the Minister highlighted the importance of partnerships in building a resilient and future-ready education system, noting that global collaboration is essential in addressing the rapidly changing demands of education in the 21st century.
