Interior Minister Commissions New Vehicles to Strengthen GNFS Operations

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has commissioned a fleet of utility vehicles for the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at its Headquarters in Accra on Monday May 18,2026, as part of efforts to improve emergency response and operational efficiency across the country.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening the Service’s mobility and enhancing its capacity to respond swiftly to fire and other emergencies nationwide.

The logistics commissioned include two Toyota Hiace mini buses, four Nissan Navara pick-up trucks, one Toyota Camry saloon vehicle procured by the Government for the Service, and a Honda motorbike donated to the GNFS.

The Minister said the provision of the vehicles forms part of government’s broader commitment to retooling security and emergency response agencies to improve public safety and protect lives and property.

The Ghana National Fire Service welcomed the support, noting that the additional vehicles will significantly boost operational readiness and improve response times, especially during emergency situations.

The commissioning took place at the GNFS National Headquarters in Accra.
