The President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has called for professionalism and neutrality in the recruitment processes of the country’s security services.

Addressing members of the media, Mr. Dwumfour cautioned against the politicization of such critical national processes, emphasizing that recruitment must be handled strictly by qualified experts.

“Stop politicizing security service recruitment. We advise that these processes must be handled by people with expertise in the field,” he stated.

He further underscored the importance of accountability in public office, urging individuals in leadership and government roles to uphold integrity in their service to the nation.

“If you don’t want to be criticized, stay away from public service. If you don’t want to be exposed, do your work well — serve the nation with honesty,” he added.

Mr. Dwumfour’s remarks come amid ongoing public discussions about transparency, fairness, and political influence in state institutions.
