President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday visited survivors of a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso who are receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
The victims were among Ghanaian tomato traders ambushed by armed men while traveling on a truck. Officials said the attackers killed several passengers, set the vehicle on fire, and left others injured.

Mr. Mahama, accompanied by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, assured the survivors that the government would cover their medical expenses.
He traveled directly to the hospital after returning from an official assignment in Takoradi to receive firsthand information about the incident.

Seven Ghanaians killed in the attack have been buried. Survivors were airlifted home by the Ghana Armed Forces and are undergoing counseling and medical care, authorities said.
