Police in Dansoman have taken a female suspect into custody after a baby was reported stolen from a hospital in Mamprobi, in the Ablekuma South constituency, on Tuesday.

Authorities said the child was recovered following a search operation launched by the Ghana Police Service after relatives and hospital officials reported the incident. The suspect’s identity has not been released as investigations continue.

Officials credited the swift recovery to coordination between police, community members, and local leaders, including Ablekuma South Member of Parliament Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije and Gender Minister Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday at the Dansoman police station, Dr. Naa Momo Lartey praised the police response and said both mother and child would receive medical care to ensure their well-being.
