The Technical Director at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah, has praised Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku for his significant contributions to the development of women’s football in Ghana.
Speaking on the Kickoff Show on Atinka TV, Hon. Mensah described Kurt Okraku’s tenure as impactful, noting that the women’s game has seen steady growth since he assumed office as GFA President.
“Kurt Okraku has played a significant role in the development of women’s football in Ghana,” she stated.
She highlighted the strategic rebuilding of Ghana’s female national teams, explaining that the improved structure, preparation, and long-term planning reflect foresight, commitment, and effective leadership.
According to her, the consistent improvement of the Black Queens and other female national teams is a clear indication of the deliberate support and policy direction provided by the GFA under Okraku’s leadership.
Hon. Krosbi Mensah further commended the enhanced support systems put in place to strengthen women’s football, noting that preparations for major international tournaments—particularly involving the Black Queens—have improved significantly during the current administration.
She also cited Ghana’s strong standing in the FIFA rankings in Africa, where the country currently ranks among the top three, as further evidence of progress and effective leadership.
Hon. Mensah concluded by reaffirming that Kurt Okraku’s administration has demonstrated a firm commitment to ensuring women’s football receives the attention, resources, and institutional backing it deserves.
