Daniel Osafo has emerged as the Overall Best Student and Valedictorian at the second graduation ceremony of the Entrance University of Health Sciences (EUHS), earning multiple awards for outstanding academic performance.
A total of 59 students graduated from the School of Pharmacy, receiving Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degrees after completing six years of rigorous academic and practical training.
Graduands were urged to uphold discipline, integrity, and trust as they transition into professional practice, emphasising the critical role pharmacists play in safeguarding lives through accurate prescriptions and ethical conduct.
EUHS, which is the first private institution in West Africa to offer the Doctor of Pharmacy programme, continues to record significant milestones in healthcare education.
In 2024, the university achieved a 97 per cent pass rate in the Pharmacy Council of Ghana’s licensure examinations. The institution has also secured accreditation to offer Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing programmes, making it the first private university in Ghana to run all these health-related programmes.
The graduation ceremony, held at Spintex, attracted parents, traditional leaders, and members of the clergy, who gathered to support and celebrate the new graduates.
Addressing the ceremony, President of the University, Professor Aaron Lante Lawson, highlighted EUHS’s steady growth and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality healthcare education.
Pro Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Professor David Asamoah, also charged the graduates to maintain integrity, professionalism, and public trust in the healthcare sector.
For his exceptional achievement, Daniel Osafo received a cash prize of GHS10,000 and a laptop, presented by the Chancellor of EUHS, Elder Nana Amo Tobin. The valedictorian, along with fellow graduates, expressed deep appreciation to the university for the recognition and support throughout their academic journey.
University authorities reiterated their commitment to producing innovative, entrepreneurial, and globally competitive health professionals. The ceremony was held under the theme “Pharmacy: Where Science Meets Compassion.”
