Several students at Kadjebi-Asato Senior High School collapsed on Tuesday morning after a fire tore through one of the boys’ dormitory rooms, triggering fear and confusion across the campus. The blaze broke out at around 9:00 a.m., engulfing the room and destroying all belongings inside. Flames ripped through the roofing structure, leaving the affected space completely gutted.
Efforts to contain the fire were hampered by logistical setbacks. Firefighters who responded to the emergency were unable to deploy the district’s fire tender, which was out of service. With no functional appliance available, personnel resorted to improvised methods, slowing their response and allowing the flames to spread rapidly.

The incident sparked widespread panic among students, many of whom rushed to salvage valuables from nearby rooms. In the ensuing confusion, several collapsed.
School authorities, supported by members of the local community, moved quickly to stabilize the affected students. All those who passed out received immediate medical attention and have since been discharged.
