The oxygen plant at the 37 Military Hospital is now fully operational again, marking a major improvement in the facility’s ability to provide critical healthcare services, Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah confirmed.
The Minister highlighted that this restoration is part of President John Dramani Mahama’s ongoing efforts to enhance human security and improve Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure. During a recent visit to the hospital, Dr. Boamah discovered that the oxygen plant had been out of service, posing a significant risk to the supply of oxygen needed for surgeries, Intensive Care Units (ICUs), hospital wards, and the National Ambulance Service.
As a medical doctor himself, Dr. Boamah quickly took action. President Mahama instructed the Ministry of Defence to work alongside the National Security Coordinator to ensure the oxygen supply was restored without delay. New equipment was procured and installed, ensuring a stable supply for both the hospital and ambulance services.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Boamah expressed his satisfaction with the resolution of the issue: “I’m excited to announce that we have resolved the problem thanks to our proactive efforts.
There will be no bad news. We remain committed to addressing challenges, including those caused by economic mismanagement.”
